The EKS contains 3 Southern Championships: the Junior Championship, the Lightweight Championship and the Heavyweight Championship. The Heavyweight Championship then contains a Superheavyweight sub-class. Ballast is available to borrow free of charge at all events and can be reserved when booking in via the booking form.
The Junior Championship has a minimum racing weight of 70kg and is for drivers aged 14-19 years old. Once drivers turn 20 they cannot race in the championship.
The Lightweight Championship has a minimum racing weight of 80kg and is aimed at drivers aged 20 and over, however 14-19 year old drivers who weigh more than 70kg can also race in the class.
The Heavyweight Championship has a minimum racing weight of 90kg and is aimed at drivers aged 20 and over, however 14-19 year old drivers who weigh more than 80kg can also race in the class.
The Heavyweight Championship also contains a Superheavyweight sub-class which has a minimum racing weight of 100kg. If there is sufficient demand then the Superheavyweight sub-class will be upgraded to its own fully standalone championship.
