Northern Championships

The EKS contains 3 Northern Championships: the Junior Championship, the Senior Lightweight Championship and the Senior Heavyweight Championship. The Senior Heavyweight Championship then contains a Senior Superheavyweight sub-class. Ballast can be used to reach the minimum weight of each championship.

The Junior Championship has a minimum racing weight of 70kg and is for drivers aged 14-19 years old. Once drivers turn 20 they cannot race in the championship. Please note that drivers who are aged 14-15 years old must first receive permission from luke@elitekartingseries.co.uk to enter the series before booking in to an event due to circuit-specific age restrictions.

The Senior Lightweight Championship has a minimum racing weight of 80kg and is aimed at drivers aged 20 and over*.

The Senior Heavyweight Championship has a minimum racing weight of 90kg and is aimed at drivers aged 20 and over*.

The Senior Heavyweight Championship also contains a Senior Superheavyweight sub-class which has a minimum racing weight of 100kg. If there is sufficient demand then the Senior Superheavyweight sub-class will be upgraded to its own fully standalone championship.

*14-19 year old drivers who weigh more than 70kg can race in the Senior classes however must first receive explicit permission from luke@elitekartingseries.co.uk before booking in.
